Inclusive Language in Health Coaching
This 2-credit continuing education course introduces health coaches to inclusive language principles that support respectful, culturally responsive, and client-centered coaching relationships. Participants will learn how language can either build trust or create barriers, especially when working with clients across differences in ability, body size, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, socioeconomic status, health status, and lived experience.
The course focuses on practical coaching applications, including intake conversations, goal setting, reflective listening, written communication, and correction of language missteps. Coaches will leave with tools to communicate in ways that honor client autonomy, reduce stigma, and strengthen psychological safety.
This course is worth 2 CE credits
